Getting Crafty

I love crafts and creating something new, pretty or useful.  I started making hearts like these a couple of years ago, but with all the activities we had with our move and then getting settled here in Florida, I hadn't had the time to be creative in this arena for awhile.  So, in October as life settled down and I had time to kill while waiting for the girls in ballet class I began making these again.  I've made about two dozen so far and those I had done graced my Christmas tree this last Christmas.

Detail work on the heart above

Learned to make these "shabby chic" flowers and added them to some of my hearts

Details of flowers, buttons and beading

Another close up of the beading

Close up of the calla lilies - my oldest daughter Amber would like this one!

This was one of my favorites, so I'll have to recreate it, since I gave it to a friend for her tree.

So what do you think?  I have a bag I carry with me to ballet so I can get some work done there to pass the time as I wait for the girls. Or, if I feel like watching TV, it's a great way to be active instead of just sitting there. Have recently been checking on some websites to find other ways to be creative and let the girls express their creativity as well.  Will share those images as they are available.

Have a great day.
