Garage Door Redo

Original realtors listing picture and old house exterior

The first picture we saw of the house had this view of the garage and exterior of the house.  I've documented the color changes on the house and removing the odd looking wood decorative accents that were originally there.  Then it came time to replace the damaged and very old garage door.
We had this professionally done and replaced the original door with a door that is insulated and reinforced to handle bad weather and intense winds.  We also had window panels put in for more light in the garage.  We were really pleased with the product and service, as well as the appearance.

Once that was installed Kevin, Patrick and Cameron put vinyl molding up for the finishing trim and low maintenance that this type of molding offers.

Patrick and Kevin nailing the first pieces of molding up - old carriage light to the side

Top piece of molding going up

Finally it was time to replace the carriage style lights with the Craftsman style ones I found online that fit the look we are going for.

So here is our end result for now.  I say for now because we are still considering adding black decorative hardware to the door itself.  We'll live with this for now until we make our final decision.  Input welcome towards our final decision  : )

    1. Thanks Paps. It is amazing what little changes can do for improving the whole look. The fact that everything is so much more functional seems a bonus : )

  2. Love how fresh and updated it looks and especially love the wall color! For now, I'd hold off on new hardware and just enjoy as is. Then one morning, you will wake up and undoubtedly know EXACTLY what that hardware needs to be! :)

  3. Hi Lynda, Oh your new garage is gorgeous and so well done. I am sure it's the nicest around. I just loved your pics and the process. The color is so striking with the contrast of the white door.
You are really going to enjoy it.
Thank you for stopping by and your kind comment. Wishing you a wonderful Mother's Day!

    1. Thanks Celestina,
Have been so busy with projects I haven't had a lot of time to visit blogs in my "favorites" lists, finally got the chance and had to leave a note about your pretty guest room.
Happy Mother's Day to you too.
